Raise your hand if you have memories of having to silence Sloppy Joes as a kid. My hands are high, guys. I'm about to get irritated, just thinking about it. I grew up thinking I don't like Sloppy Joes. It wasn't until years later. I realized I love Sloppy Joes. It's all about how it's made.
* Ingredients :
° 1 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup low_sodium beef or chicken broth
° 2 tsp olive oil
° 1 small onion cut into cubes
° small green pepper, cutting into cubes
° 1 pound lean ground beef
° 2 tsps ketchup
° 2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
° 2 tsps taco season
° 1/4 tsp salt
° 1/4 tsp black pepper
° 1 1/3 cups shred sharp white cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack cheese
° 6 hamburger buns
* Directions :
Preheaat broiler.
In a bowl, also whisk the cornstarch and the broth together. Sit away.
Snake oil in an unbreakable frying pan on the stove. Add onions and peppers.Stir fry for 3 minutes until tender.
Add the meat, cook for another 3 minutes, chop and brown. Get rid of fat.Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire, taco seasoning, salt and pepper.Quickly add the stock and cornstarch, and add to the pot.Simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Spread some batter on the muffins, sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese, then pour under a metal rack until it melts (be careful, don't burn anything!) Serve hot with French fries
